Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 (also known as Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1) is the first update to the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, which was released to the public on 4 August 2014.
This update introduces features like the Apps Corner, Voice over LTE support, support for app folders, password protected office documents and for higher display resolutions, along with multiple enhancements to Internet Explorer and much more.
