Windows Mobile 6.0 (codenamed Crossbow) is a version of Windows Mobile that was released on 12 February 2007.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • The UI was modeled after Windows Vista's Aero interface.
  • OneNote Mobile, which is a mobile version of Microsoft Office OneNote was added to the OS.
  • Some improvements were made to the Office Mobile apps, such as HTML email support.
  • A search ability for contacts in an Exchange Server Address Book was implemented.
  • .NET Compact Framework v2 SP2 is now preinstalled with the OS itself.
  • AJAX, JavaScript, and XMLDOM support were added to Internet Explorer Mobile, along with improvements to devicewide Internet Sharing.
  • Enhancements to the communication abilites of the OS, including a new Microsoft Bluetooth Stack, and VoIP support with AEC, and the MSRT audio codec.
  • Added Storage Card Encryption, so that the encryption keys are lost of the device is cold-booted
  • Support for 320x320 and 800x480 screen resoultions.
  • Improved Remote Desktop access.
  • A new Customer Feedback option.
  • A new feature called Smartfilter was added for searching within programs.
  • Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) support was added for select operators.
