Windows Pocket PC 2002 (codenamed Merlin), is a version of Windows Phone. It was released on 4 October 2001. Support for Pocket PC 2002 ended on 14 October 2008, and was succeeded by Windows Mobile 2003.

The home screen background wallpaper is very similar to what is seen in the animation played at the beginning of the OOBE of Windows XP Beta 2 builds.
