macOS Sequoia, or macOS 15, is the twenty-first and latest major release of macOS that was released on 16 September 2024. It was announced on 10 June 2024 at WWDC.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • Introduced Apple Intelligence, which adds several generative AI features to the system.
  • Added the ability to screen mirror and control an iPhone directly from macOS via Continuity.
  • Added the ability to tile windows by dragging them into the corner of the display. This is comparable to the Snap feature on Windows.
  • Enhancements to video conferencing with Presenter Preview and custom backgrounds.
  • Added Distraction Control, Highlights, Video Viewer, and a redesigned Reader to Safari with version 18.
  • Introduced the Passwords app for managing passwords, passkeys, verification codes, and security alerts.
  • Redesigned the Calculator app, which now includes history and unit conversion tools.
  • Added Math Notes and live audio transcriptions to the Notes app.
  • Added text effects and the Send Later feature to iMessage.
