Windows 11 build 27749 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 13 November 2024.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Features[edit | edit source]
The following features and changes introduced previously have been gradually rolled out:
- The ability to show the search box on the taskbar set to auto-hide (initially implemented in build 22635.3500 and can be activated manually by enabling the

velocity staging key) - New shortcut Narrator key+Ctrl+X to copy what Narrator last spoke to clipboard (initially implemented in build 22635.4371)
- New functionality in Narrator that reads contents of a mail in the new Outlook app automatically (initially implemented in build 22635.4371)
- Update to the "Show location of pointer when I press the Ctrl key" option under the Mouse Control Panel applet so that the circles displayed are now DPI-aware, and aren't really small on high DPI monitors (initially implemented in build 26120.2200)
The following features and changes introduced previously have also been ported to this build, albeit being disabled by default:
- The redesigned Windows security credential user experiences for passkeys (initially implemented in build 22635.4225 and can be activated manually by enabling the

Settings[edit | edit source]
The blank option on the Privacy & security page, which would cause the app to crash with the 0xc000027b
exception code when clicking on it, has been removed.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Mitigated an issue that was resulting in Git not working on ARM64 devices in build 27744.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the
KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION
bugcheck in certain cases in build 27744. - Fixed an underlying issue that was potentially leading to not being able to join a domain.
- Fixed an issue where DirectAccess wasn't working and might stay stuck in a connecting state.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the audio on certain audio devices to unexpectedly go to 100% on boot or after sleep.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the Administrative Templates error

File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue that was causing the items in the navigation pane to become very spread out (with unexpected padding between each item) in certain cases.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing RAW images taken in portrait mode to unexpectedly display in landscape mode thumbnails.
Accessibility[edit | edit source]
- Addressed a performance issue where Narrator would slow down after 15 minutes of continuous use with a single application.
- Fixed an issue where Narrator would add an additional announcement "contains style" whenever its focus is on text that has styling attributes such as bullets, numbers across applications.
- Fixed an issue where few dialogs in Narrator were not adopting the 200% text scaling setting in Windows.
Task Manager[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue that was causing Task Manager to show a 0 count for apps and processes.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - Users may experience a hang at the boot screen and roll back with the
0xc190010
error when upgrading to this build. - Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
- Certain settings under Advanced tab > Performance in the System Properties Control Panel applet and the "Animation effects" setting under Accessibility > Visual effects in the Settings app may not persist across reboots.
- Desktop background may not show correctly sometimes with multiple monitors (showing big black areas).
- Certain apps used for remoting into other devices may crash in certain cases.
- Applying policy for the Digital Markets Act in EEA regions may not work correctly.
