Windows 11 build 22635.3500 is a build of Windows 11 2023 Update. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on 19 April 2024.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Widgets[edit | edit source]

  • The new navigation pane on the Widgets dashboard, initially introduced in build 26058, has been backported to this build.
  • The Widgets entry point on the taskbar has been updated with clearer visuals and a larger set of animated icons.
  • The ability to send notifications to the Widgets entry point with custom Widgets dashboards has been added and rolled out to users in the European Economic Area (EEA).
  • The ability to disable taskbar notifications from individual dashboards has been added and rolled out to users in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Start menu[edit | edit source]

  • The user profile menu has been redesigned as "account manager", showing account settings and suggested notifications. As part of this change, the Sign Out option has been moved to the ellipsis menu, the Lock option has been moved to the power options menu, and the "Sign-in options" option under the power options menu has been removed. These changes can be activated manually by enabling the 46892085 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.
  • The ability of group apps alphabetically has been implemented to the grid view of All apps list, which was initially implemented in build 22635.3420.

Taskbar[edit | edit source]

The ability to show the search box on the taskbar set to auto-hide has been added. This feature is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 49287050 velocity staging key.

Shell[edit | edit source]

The ability to send email to user's own Gmail account directly from the Share flyout has been added.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • A "Never lose access to your account" interactive card and a "Never lose access" banner have been added to the Home and Account pages respectively to urge users to add a recovery email address or a recovery phone number if applicable.
  • A new Game Pass recommendation card has been added to the Home page. This page is only available on the Home and Pro SKUs with a Microsoft account signed in.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) may not work after installing this build.

Settings[edit | edit source]

Copying text may crash the Settings app in certain cases.

Widgets[edit | edit source]

  • Interacting with the Widgets board may crash Widgets in certain cases.
  • The following issues are applicable if the new position for the Widgets entry point on left-aligned taskbars (previously introduced in build 22635.3420) are enabled:
    • Toggling the Widgets option under Personalization > Taskbar in the Settings app may refresh the taskbar.
    • Swipe invocation for the Widgets board and unpinning the Widgets entry point from the taskbar may not work if the taskbar is center-aligned.
    • The Widgets board may be incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode.

Copilot[edit | edit source]

  • Copilot may run automatically at startup unexpectedly after restarting Windows.
  • Voice access and Windows Ink may not work reliably if the undocking experience for Copilot is enabled.
