Windows Server 2016 build 14257 (rs1_release) is a build of Windows Server 2016. This build was previously only available as an install.wim

Installing Datacenter Core SKU from a WIM file[edit | edit source]
Originally, this build was shared as an x64 Datacenter Core SKU install.wim file. You must be sure to use the Hyper-V hypervisor for installation. On other hypervisors, the build will freeze at the boot screen after installation.
1. Create blank VHD file, then partition and format it.
2. Use the DISM /apply-image
parameter to apply the WIM to the hard drive:
dism /apply-image /imagefile:the\path\to\the\file\install.wim /index:1 /applydir:Hard drive letter:\
3. Add boot files:
bcdboot the letter of the partition where the system is installed:/Windows
4. Boot from your hard drive.
5. After installation, you will not be able to login as administrator, you need to use a password removal tool such as PCUnlocker Live CD to remove unknown password. Then you can set your log in password and login to the system safely as well.
