Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
System Reset[edit | edit source]
If System Reset is launched while this build is running, it will say that no installation media has been found, even if the correct installation media is inserted. However, this feature will work normally if it is launched from the installation media.
General[edit | edit source]
If using VMware Workstation versions 15.x or above changes in build 7878, attempting to restart or shutdown in this build will cause a softlock. To fix this, use the Power menu from the VM section.
Aero[edit | edit source]
Only the top portion of the window frame is blurred when using the Windows Aero theme, leaving the side borders transparent.
System Reserved partition[edit | edit source]
This build seems to have the System Reserved partition shown in Explorer, with its drive letter usually set to D:.
Setup and Redpill[edit | edit source]
- To upgrade to this build, launch
installprep.exe
in thesources
folder of the installation media, as the legacy setup client will error out. Also, user-installed programs cannot be migrated to this build. - At the end of the second stage of clean setup and the third and fourth stages of upgrade setup, as well as the final stage of redpilling, the startup sound plays, but will get cut after ¾ due to the following restart of the computer.
