APIs[edit | edit source]
- A in-box public preview of Windows MIDI Services, an open source MIDI API for Windows, has been implemented. It's a complete rewrite of the MIDI 1.0 part of old Windows Multimedia API (which was originally implemented in Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions 1.0) with full support of MIDI 2.0 standard, various enhancements, a new USB class driver, faster transports, and essential tools.[1]
- The "Location History" feature, an API used by Cortana to access 24 hours of device history when location was enabled, has been removed. Location data will no longer be saved locally, and the corresponding settings under Privacy & security → Location in the Settings app have also been removed. This removal is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the
54920368
velocity staging key.
