New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Features[edit | edit source]

The following previously introduced features and changes have been gradually rolled out:

  • The Home page in the Settings app on managed commercial devices with Education, Enterprise and IoT Enterprise SKUs (previously implemented in build 22635.4300 and can be activated manually by enabling the 53281237 velocity staging key)
  • Improvements to the support for web search providers in Windows Search, including clearer provider attribution in tabs (previously implemented in build 22635.4515 for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), and can be activated manually by enabling the 54865932 velocity staging key)
  • Improvements to support for the text scaling across File Explorer, file open/save dialogs and the copy dialogs that follows text size preference under AccessibilityText Size in the Settings app (previously implemented in build 22635.4515 and can be activated manually by enabling the 47274802 and 48433719 velocity staging keys)
  • New top cards under the SystemAbout page in the Settings app to show key hardware specifications (previously implemented in build 22635.4660 and can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719, 51784082 and 54618938 velocity staging keys)

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to open desktop folders and external folder links in new tabs within an existing File Explorer window, previously implemented in build 22635.4515 and gradually rolled out in build 22635.4580, has been temporarily disabled due to some issues. It can still be activated manually by enabling the 48433719, 49143212 and 52081114 velocity staging keys.
  • The Recommended section under the Home page has been available to all users apart from Microsoft Entra ID accounts. The section can also now show local files. These changes are disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 48895801 and 51721485 velocity staging keys.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The following interactive cards have been added to the Home page. These cards are gradually rolled out to managed commercial devices with Education, Enterprise and IoT Enterprise SKUs:

  • Two new enterprise-specific device info and accessibility preferences cards (can be activated manually by enabling the 45600144 and 54645886 velocity staging keys)
  • New accounts card indicating the presence of both work and school and Microsoft account types (can be activated manually by enabling the 53371975 velocity staging key)

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

Users will now have a standard taskbar after restoring from a backup via out-of-box experience on a new device.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

  • When opening and then minimizing a File Explorer window, the window may not render correctly when restoring it.
  • The Home page in the Settings app may crash in certain cases.
  • The aforementioned interactive cards may unexpectedly show up under the Home page in the Settings app on non-managed devices (with Home and Professional SKUs) signed in with Microsoft accounts.
