About dialog | |
Windows 11 build 27774 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 16 January 2025.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Shell[edit | edit source]
The new design of User Account Control prompt with Administrator protection, previously implemented in build 27754, has been updated to show expanded color-coded regions over app description.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- The new "Administrator protection" section under the Account protection page in the Windows Security app, previously implemented in build 27764, has been gradually rolled out. The "Administrator protection Settings" link is also fully functional in this build. This section can be activated manually by enabling the
51406324
velocity staging key. - Formatting or deleting partitions in Windows Setup will now show a warning dialog.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing certain settings under Advanced tab → Performance in the System Properties Control Panel applet and the "Animation effects" setting under Accessibility → Visual effects in the Settings app to not persist across reboots.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the Xbox app to fail to launch with a "Please try again" error sometimes in builds 27764 and 27768.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
- When opening and then minimizing a File Explorer window, the window may not render correctly when restoring it.
- The
sfc /scannow
command may show errors every time it runs. - Remote Desktop Connection may fail to initialize with the
0x80080005
error. The workaround for this issue is to run the program with elevated privileges. - Hyper-V and other features which rely on it (such as Windows Subsystem for Linux) may not work properly.
