Windows 11 build 27768 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 9 January 2025.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Features[edit | edit source]
The following previously introduced features and changes have been gradually rolled out:
- The ability to change time zones via Time & Language → Date & time in the Settings app for standard (non-admin) users (initially implemented in build 26120.2702)
- The New Folder option in the modern context menu when right-clicking locations in File Explorer's navigation pane (previously implemented in build 27695 and can be activated manually by enabling the

The following previously introduced features and changes have been ported to this build, albeit being disabled by default:

Settings[edit | edit source]
Changes to configurations of user's test-taking account under the Accounts → Access work or school → Create a task-taking account page will not be applied immediately after checking/unchecking options. Instead, a new "Save your current configuration" option has been added for manually applying these changes. This change is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 53433737
velocity staging key.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an underlying issue that was resulting in some games appearing oversaturated when using Auto HDR.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
bugcheck in certain cases.
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue that was causing the date/time properties of files to be unexpectedly updated in some cases after copying them.
- Fixed an issue where File Explorer would sometimes lose focus on the search box while typing.
- Fixed an issue where doing a search would unexpectedly trigger the search happening repeatedly.
- Fixed an issue where the Details pane icons weren't responding correctly to theme changes.
- Fixed a black flash in File Explorer that appeared when duplicating a tab.
Input[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue that was leading to the mouse cursor unexpectedly stuttering when moving it around sometimes.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
- Certain settings under Advanced tab → Performance in the System Properties Control Panel applet and the "Animation effects" setting under Accessibility → Visual effects in the Settings app may not persist across reboots.
- When opening and then minimizing a File Explorer window, the window may not render correctly when restoring it.
- The
sfc /scannow
command may show errors every time it runs.
