Windows Longhorn build 4031 (main) is a Milestone 5 build of Windows Longhorn. On 23 January 2020, this build was listed on a thread by UX.Unleaked blog founder Grabberslasher to be released to the BetaArchive FTP, and was later released in the ninth set of his 33 Longhorn/Vista builds on 1 February 2020, alongside the main lab compile of 4085, the x86 version of 4083, the Lab06_n compile of this build, its Lab07 Server counterpart and build 5520. This build is currently the latest available Milestone 5 build and therefore still uses the wallpaper from the aforementioned milestone.

Setup[edit | edit source]

Setup is practically similar to previous Milestone 5 builds.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

Upon logging in, an error message will appear, stating that the operating system recovered from a serious error. This is because the computer that the WIM has been imaged from crashed, and the crash has not been cleared since the computer has not booted since before the WIM was imaged.

Installation[edit | edit source]

Many drivers are not installed by default during the hardware portion of setup and have to be installed manually.

Timebomb[edit | edit source]

This build was compiled in evaluation mode and can be installed on the current date. Attempting to log onto the desktop once the timebomb has been triggered will return the user to the login screen.
