Windows 8 build 8140 is a post-Developer Preview build of Windows 8, which was uploaded to BetaArchive on 24 February 2020, along with its server counterpart.

Changes[edit | edit source]

  • A new "Windows 8 Beta" branding is used in System Properties and the winver banner. However, some parts of the build, including the boot screen and setup, still mention "Windows Developer Preview".
  • The ability to change the accent color has been re-added.
  • Metro IE settings have been added.
