Redpill[edit | edit source]

The Redlock tool can be used to unlock all of the Redpill levels on this build, including the Start screen.

Compared to build 7955, a couple of changes have took place. The Immersive Browser was updated and the power options, network settings, and the volume slider have been removed from the Immersive Control Panel.

Unlike build 7962, this build still uses placeholder icons in the Explorer ribbon, as the change did not made it into the winmain branch until the final Developer Preview build, with the placeholder icons being altered in build 8008 and the final icons reappearing in build 8032.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

Aero[edit | edit source]

This build appears to have a slightly broken Windows Aero theme, with only the top portion of the window frame using the blur effect, leaving the side borders transparent.

Aero Glass in Starter and Home Basic[edit | edit source]

This build automatically enables Aero Glass transparency even when installing the Starter or Home Basic SKUs, which is not supported by default.

Upgrading[edit | edit source]

When upgrading to this build on some machines, Windows will appear to hang on Preparing to configure Windows. After some time, Windows will restart and continue the upgrading process. This bug persists until build 8032.
When logging in for the first time after a successful upgrade, the buildtag will not be displayed on the desktop. Restarting the machine will make the buildtag visible again.
