Windows 11 build 27823 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 26 March 2025, along with Server build 26384.5001.

Features[edit | edit source]
The following previously introduced features and changes have been gradually rolled out:
- Performance improvements for extracting zipped files in File Explorer, particularly when unzipping a large number of small files (initially implemented in build 22635.4945)
- New top cards under the System → About page in the Settings app to show key hardware specifications (previously implemented in build 27783 and can be activated manually by enabling the

Windows Setup[edit | edit source]
The ability to create a Storage Spaces pool named "WindowsSetupPool" on unallocated space has been implemented into Windows Setup. It can be achieved by clicking the hidden button in the center right of the "Select location to install Windows 11" page, and then configurating in the "Format disk with Flexible Storage" dialog.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where non-admin users couldn't uninstall printers that they'd added.
- Fixed an issue that was causing a message saying a Send to OneNote driver for printing wasn't working in certain cases.
- Fixed an issue that was causing certain apps to fail to install in builds 27813 through 27818.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the
UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR
bugcheck when upgrading or clean installing the latest Selenium builds. - Fixed an issue where when using
CopyPixels
the pixels may be unexpectedly inverted in certain cases. - Fixed an issue where traffic routing might not work correctly when network adapters were connected.
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where File Explorer might be blank and not render when pressing Alt+Tab ↹ to resume it from a minimized state.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the ellipse menu in the command bar to open in the wrong direction for some resolutions.
Shell[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue where clicking the sign-in options on the lock screen was crashing in certain cases.
Input[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue that was causing
ctfmon.exe
to crash when copying content from certain apps. - Fixed an issue where
GetRawInputData
was unexpectedly failing to read data in some cases, withlastWin32Error
invalid handle error.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - The taskbar icons may not increase in size as they should when using the device in a tablet posture.
- The toggle to get the latest updates as they are available via the Windows Update page in the Settings app may not render correctly and get turned off by itself.
- The padding of the navigation pane in the Settings app may be missing.
