Windows 11 build 27818 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 19 March 2025.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Features[edit | edit source]
The following previously introduced features and changes have been gradually rolled out:
- Deprecation and removal of the Suggested actions feature (initially implemented in build 22635.4660)
- Performance improvements for extracting zipped files in File Explorer, particularly when unzipping a large number of small files (initially implemented in build 22635.4945)
- The ability to show manufacturer and manufacturer version for Pluton TPM chips under the Device security → Security processor details page in the Windows Security app (previously implemented in build 27764 and can be activated manually by enabling the

velocity staging key)
The following previously introduced features and changes have also been ported to this build, albeit being disabled by default:

- Fixed a

crash that was causing multiple apps to fail to launch in builds 27802 through 27813. - Fixed an issue that was causing sluggish video when using multiple monitors after changing from Second Screen Only to Duplicate display mode.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was leading to certain games failing to launch after an upgrade, saying DirectX function

. - Fixed an issue that was causing Visual Studio Code to not be able to be installed when administrator protection was enabled.

Fixed an issue that was causing the Home page to not load correctly and just show random floating text saying "Name".
Taskbar[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue with the taskbar app window previews, where the corners of the flyout weren't drawn with the correct radius in certain cases.
- Fixed an issue where the underlines under app icons on the taskbar would get stuck showing even if the app had been closed.
Input[edit | edit source]
Fixed a high hitting ctmon.exe
crash that was impacting the ability to type.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where an underlying crash was causing the Settings app to show an error message on launch ("The instruction at

. The memory could not be read"). - Fixed an issue in the Japanese language where the name displayed at the top of the Accounts page showed western name order ("given name(s), family name") instead of eastern name order ("family name, given name").
- Addressed some issues that were causing the Settings app to crash when navigating to System → Display → Graphics.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - The taskbar icons may not increase in size as they should when using the device in a tablet posture.
