Windows 11 build 25151.1000 is the fourteenth Insider Preview and the eighth available client build of Copper, the 23H1 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel on 29 June 2022, along with its server counterpart.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Shell[edit | edit source]
The redesigned Open With dialog box, which initially introduced in build 22563, later reverted in build 22579 and then removed completely in build 22581, has been re-added.
- This feature is disabled by default, To enable it, use ViveTool from an elevated Command Prompt window to enable the
36302090
velocity ID.
Widgets[edit | edit source]
The ability to show a notification badge on Widgets entry point has been added. A banner will appear at the top of the Widgets board providing more information on what triggered the notification badge.
- This feature is only available to a subset of Windows Insiders.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- It is no longer possible to sync devices in Windows Media Player Legacy.
- The reliability for dismissing the context menu when clicking a tab and then clicking somewhere else in File Explorer has been improved.
- The Exclusions page in the Windows Security app has been updated so that file paths now make better use of the available space rather than truncating when space is still available.
- This build includes new versions of
win32kbase.sys
andwin32kfull.sys
that are written in the Rust programming language instead of C. These files use the_rs
suffix in their filenames, and therefore are not actively used. These files would be removed in build 25169 and would return in 25346.[1]
