New features and changes[edit | edit source]

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to open desktop folders and external folder links in new tabs within an existing File Explorer window, previously implemented in build 22635.4515, has been gradually rolled out. It can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719, 49143212 and 52081114 velocity staging keys.
  • The new right-click context menu for turning off or snoozing the "Start backup" reminder in the address bar, previously implemented in build 22635.4515, has been gradually rolled out. It can be activated manually by enabling the 47944061 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.
  • The ability to restore all previously opened tabs in each File Explorer window at logon (if the "Restore previous folder windows at logon" option is enabled) has been added. The logic for the "Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in" option under Accounts > Sign in options in the Settings app has also been updated as part of this work. These changes are gradually rolled out, but can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719 and 54572881 velocity staging keys.

Taskbar[edit | edit source]

The ability to show abbreviated date/time in the system tray, previously rolled out in build 22635.3930, has been temporarily disabled due to some issues. It can still be activated manually by enabling the 46874415 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.

Settings[edit | edit source]

A new "Emoji and more" option has been added to the Personalization > Taskbar page in the Settings app for toggling the non-functional "Emoji and more" icon in the system tray, which allow users to quickly open the emoji panel. The option is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719 and 48504539 velocity staging keys.
