Windows 11 build 22635.4515 is a build of Windows 11 2023 Update. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on 22 November 2024.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Settings[edit | edit source]

The "Resume" feature, previously implemented in build 22635.4225, has been gradually rolled out. It's a device syncing functionality that's reminiscent of OS X Yosemite and iOS 8's Handoff capabilities and aims to create a seamless OneDrive integration between mobile phone (iOS and Android) and the Windows desktop environment. A cross-device resume notification will be shown to indicate that users can continue working on OneDrive files across devices seamlessly. This feature can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719 and 49527529 velocity staging keys.

Start menu[edit | edit source]

The new Share option in the context menu when right-clicking on a recently used files in Start menu's Recommended section for quickly sharing, previously implemented in build 22635.4445, has been gradually rolled out. It can be activated manually by enabling the 46493758 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

The ability to open desktop folders and external folder links in new tabs within an existing File Explorer window has been added, with its feature toggle under the Folder Options dialog. It's disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 48433719, 49143212 and 52081114 velocity staging keys.
A new right-click context menu has been added to turn off or snooze the "Start backup" reminder in the address bar has been added. It's disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 47944061 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.
The performance of right-click context menu launch on cloud files has been improved.
The consistency when displaying thumbnails for cloud files in search results within File Explorer has been improved.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

The WebAuthn Plugin Authenticator APIs has been updated to support a plugin authentication model for passkeys. This lays the foundation of the ability to choose a third-party provider as an additional choice alongside the native Windows passkey provider while maintaining the Windows Hello user experience.
A new Ctrt+Alt+- keyboard shortcut has been added to Magnifier for quickly toggling between the current zoom and 1× zoom. This feature is gradually rolled out, but can be activated manually by enabling the 54322778 velocity staging key.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

Fixed an issue that was preventing users from navigating by entering a path in File Explorer's address bar.
Fixed an issue where the File Explorer address bar was unexpectedly overlapping with content while in full-screen view.
Fixed an issue that was causing explorer.exe crashes when trying to create new folders in certain locations within File Explorer.
