Talk:Android

We need to talk about the builds of Android[edit source]

Android is an open source projects that provides source code for every version out there, even the internal ones. This is because Git keeps track of the commit history between versions. Technically speaking, none of the development builds of Android are ever lost (except early builds when they were hosted on a non-Google owned server, but I do have the commit history for before the transfer). This prompts a discussion of whether we should introduce a new type of tag where the versions are separated by source exists and leaked (which also is a bad term for Android). Question about putting on the main menu thingy[edit source]

I have no idea what its called (what i'm saying is the first thing you see once you go onto BetaWiki), but once all the info for Android is done, can we add to the main menu thing? or keep it here? --Meow2004 (talk) 16:50, 22 August 2018 (BST)

Infoboxes and Pages (Basically a TODO list)[edit source]

An infobox needs to be created for Android and versions need to have their own pages. --LilShootDawg (talk) 16:19, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Question about protection[edit source]

@BF10 The page is protected because what type of excessive vandalism? 100.11.109.128 23:04, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Based on the edit history, the Android page has always been a target for vandals to mess around with (like changing codenames to incorrect ones and adding gibberish), which is to be expected since no one really cares about this page (except admins and me). Because of this, the admins will never unprotect the page. NaraInsider1694 (talk) 23:35, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
@NaraInsider1694 OK but I'm not a vandal. 100.11.109.128 18:47, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Nothing prevents you from creating an account and earning autoconfirmed status. The page is directly exposed from the main page, so lifting the protection would cause more harm than good. --Ryuzaki (talk | contribs) 19:08, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
