Windows Vista build 5487 is a pre-RC1 build of Windows Vista. WinFuture.de leaked 57 screenshots of it on 2 August 2006. This build was originally leaked on 7 August 2006 in China, but it became lost shortly after. It was eventually releaked to BetaArchive on 29 January 2020 alongside Windows Longhorn build 4033 (idx01).
Changes[edit | edit source]
- The Windows Orb seen while logging in has decreased in size and resembles that of the RTM.
- Slightly changed the appearance of the login screen to resemble the final version.
- Changed many parts of the OOBE.
- The setup and login screen now use the backgrounds seen in the RTM.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
Graphics driver[edit | edit source]
The default VGA graphics adapter is very buggy, often having the screen flicker through resolutions and cannot have resolutions higher than 800x600 pixels. However, if you upgrade from a previous build, you can have 1024x768 and higher.
