New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • The tablet-optimized taskbar feature, which initially announced in build 25066, has been rolled out to all users.
  • The unified hitboxes for Win32 system tray icons and the "show hidden icons" flyout, which initially announced in build 25066, have been rolled out to all users.
    • As part of this change, the drag-and-drop feature for pinning or unpinning the tray icons has been removed.
  • The ability to name app folders in Start menu has been added.
  • The rounded corners have been implemented into the following UI elements:
    • The message on the dragged apps when dragging them to pin to the taskbar.
    • The border shown around the thumbnails when setting keyboard focus to desktops in Task view.
  • The updated Open With dialog box, which was initially introduced in build 25066, has been reverted to its original design due to performance issues.
  • The ability to reorder tabs by dragging and dropping them for the tabbed browsing feature in the File Explorer has been added.
  • The icons of Quick Assist, Windows Sandbox, Magnifier and the on-screen keyboard have been updated to align with the Fluent design.
  • The top border line extending across the entire taskbar will be seen for all users regardless of device type.
  • The "Move to top" option in the context menu when right-clicking a pinned app has been renamed to "Move to front".
  • Several icons used in the context menu and File Explorer's command bar (e.g. Copy, Open with, Display settings, etc.) have been updated.
  • The multi-finger touch gestures has been updated to include animations when using three fingers to swipe left and right and switch between recently used windows.
  • The Windows Terminal option in the ⊞ Win+X menu has been replaced with Windows PowerShell.
  • The personalized emoji (e.g. the family emoji) will display a small accent colored dot in the bottom corner of their entries in the emoji panel.
  • The Start menu or Quick Settings will be displayed with a continued swipe upwards from the tablet-optimized taskbar once it is fully expanded, removing the need for swiping twice from the taskbar.
  • The percentage on the flyout design for the hardware indicator for volume has been updated to be centered in the design consistently.
  • The consistency of the dismiss animation for snap layouts when dragging a window to the top of the screen and then dragging it back down has been improved.
  • The Do Not Disturb icon on the Notification Center has been updated to Windows11-10.0.22543.1000-Icon2.svg/Windows11-10.0.22543.1000-Icon3.svg.
  • The visibility of the battery icon in the Bluetooth section of Quick Settings when a contrast mode was enabled has been improved.
  • The size of the area above a notification where clicks weren't being passed through to the underlying window has been reduced so it's the same sized area as the side of the notification.
  • The Keyboard Layout section in the Quick Settings has been removed.
  • The Print Queue shortcut in the Start menu has been removed.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The Activity history subpage under Privacy & security page has been redesigned in order to align with the design aesthetics of Windows 11.
  • The "Trade-in or recycle your PC" option under About page will not be shown when performing an in-place upgrade to this build, but will reappear over time.
  • The touch keyboard icon option in Taskbar subpage under Personalization page has been updated to a dropdown menu.
  • Changes under Sounds page to program events (for example, turning certain system sounds off) will persist on upgrade going forward.

Input[edit | edit source]

The reliability of showing the touch keyboard on the login screen after tapping the PIN or password field after rebooting or upgrade has been improved.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

A new group policy for excluding USB removable drives from BitLocker encryption has been added.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

The .ISO image of this build may not boot correctly on VMware, VirtualBox and Hyper-V Gen 2 virtual machines.

Shell[edit | edit source]

Pressing Ctrl+T in File Explorer may cause the command bar to stack on top of each other if the tabbed browsing feature is not enabled.

Safe mode[edit | edit source]

  • Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the Capability Access Manager Service service not running.
  • Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer 0xc0000409.
