Windows 8 build 8419 is a pre-RTM build of Windows 8. It was found installed on multiple HP Pavilion dm1-series notebook prototypes sold on the Chinese second-hand marketplace Idle Fish (闲鱼; Xianyu). A disk dump of this build was first uploaded to BetaWorld on 21 December 2022,[1] and was later shared on 28 October 2024.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
The default wallpaper set has been reverted to the variant observed in earlier 83xx-series development builds, and the provided set of Start screen patterns have also been changed back to those observed in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. The File Explorer's present name has been introduced, in light of the changes introduced as part of the new Windows 8 user interface.
The Windows Fingerprinting Service has been fully re-enabled in this build; the EULA hash is now visible within the desktop watermark.
