Windows 8 build 8108 is a build of Windows 8. It was released to Microsoft partners through the Ecosystem Engineering Access Program (EEAP) and as is common for such builds coming from the fbl_eeap
branch, it had the entire Metro user interface stripped out at compile time and therefore cannot be redpilled in its vanilla state, despite the public Developer Preview build released in the same period already featuring it by default. This is the last known build to do so.
The build was shared publicly on 17 September 2024.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- The font in the Notification Area Icons Control Panel page's list of items is bold.
- This build contains a broken Direct3D renderer, so software that makes use of Direct3D will not work.
OOBE background[edit | edit source]
Like any previous build since 8032, this build's Windows 7 OOBE background is distorted in that the image got squished in monochrome on the left, with a black space being left on the right. This bug was never fixed, as the legacy OOBE was removed with the integration of Redpill features to the main codebase of Windows in build 8128.
