Windows 8.1 build 9385 is the seventeenth partner release of Windows 8.1, which was originally shared online as a multilingual ISO containing the English, Polish and Russian languages in the x86 architecture on 1 May 2013.[1] A x64 version was uploaded to BetaArchive on 19 January 2015. An ARM architecture version was uploaded to BetaArchive on 25 December 2019, and a British English version which is also in the ARM architecture was uploaded to the Internet Archive on 20 February 2023.[2]

- Movie Moments received a major UI overhaul and a new icon.
- The Camera app now uses a blue tile on the Start screen.
- Kiosk mode has been renamed "Assigned access".
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Upgrading from Windows 8 build 9200 may cause the Windows Store and Settings applications to be rendered unusable.
- This build's x86 compile bugchecks with code
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
when run under a processor that lacks either the No eXecute (NX) bit or the SSE2 instruction set, and is the result of a processor feature set check that is not being handled properly. - Visual artifacts may appear while using Metro applications and features.
- Desktop Window Manager animation transitions do not function properly; fades do not display properly, and certain Metro UI animation transitions (such as invoking the Charms bar) do not play at all.
- The winver dialog is missing in the Polish release.
- Post OOBE words are mixed together in the Russian release.
- Movie Moments is localized in pseudo in other languages.
- Settings App is not translated in other languages.
ARM32 compile specifics[edit | edit source]
- Attempting to use the Search charm in the ARM32 compile will cause the File Explorer application to crash.
- It is not possible to select a startup option without a physical keyboard attached as the touch keyboard does not appear.
- Opening the Camera App crashes and returns you to the Start screen.
