Windows 11 build 27729 is a build of Selenium, the 25H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 17 October 2024.

Shell[edit | edit source]
The "New natural voices are available" dialog (pop up when launching Narrator) has been updated in order to align the design aesthetics of Windows 11.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- The new section under Personalization > Text input for configuring the Copilot key on keyboard, previously implemented in build 27718, has been gradually rolled out. It can be activated manually by enabling the
52608608
velocity staging key. - The "Hand Off" feature and its settings under System > Hand Off, initially implemented in build 22635.4225, have been ported to this build. This feature is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the
49527529
velocity staging key.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing certain games (such as Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games) to crash on launch in builds 27718 and 27723.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the screen to go black for a few seconds when pressing Alt+Tab ↹.
- Fixed an issue that was causing BitLocker to not work correctly in certain cases in builds 27718 and 27723.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Enrolling to the Windows Insider Program on a new Copilot+ PC may cause Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to fail with the
0xd0000225
("Something went wrong, and your PIN isn't available") error. - Users may experience a hang at the boot screen and roll back with the
0xc1900101
error when upgrading to this build. - The
UPAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
bugcheck may occur in certain cases. - On devices with older NVIDIA graphics cards (such as GeForce GTX 970 and Quadro K620), displays may stuck on a black screen devices and graphics cards may show errors under Device Manager.
- Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
- The emoji panel and clipboard history may not open in certain Win32 surfaces, including in Microsoft Management Console, MSConfig and Registry Editor.
