Device Manager is a system utility included with Microsoft Windows since Windows 95. It allows users to view an overview of all hardware devices that are attached or connected to the computer and allows users to manage and configure them. It is also used to troubleshoot hardware that is not working properly.

Originally introduced in Windows 9x as part of the System Properties Control Panel applet (SYSDM.CPL), it turned into a MMC snap-in in Windows 2000.
