New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Start menu[edit | edit source]

The ability to display folders and most used apps, as well as transitions animation when toggling folders, have been added to the grid view of All apps list, which was initially implemented in build 22635.3420.

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to show jump lists when right-clicking on apps pinned to the Start menu that have jump lists has been added. This feature is only available to a subset of users, but can be activated manually by enabling the 32222762, 47205210 and 48433719 velocity staging keys.
  • The ability to pin apps to the taskbar or the desktop by dragging them from the Pinned section in Start menu has been added. This feature is only available to a subset of users, but can be activated manually by enabling the 43283102 velocity staging key.
  • Changes to the user interaction of the Windows Spotlight icon on the desktop, previously implemented in build 22635.3495, has been once again adjusted. Single-clicking on the Windows Spotlight icon on the desktop will now open the Bing landing page in Microsoft Edge for the image. This change is only available to a subset of users, but can be activated manually by enabling the 49140016 velocity staging key with the variant parameter set to 1.
  • The new "My Phone" button under the Nearby Share section in Windows Share flyout, previously introduced in build 22635.3646, has been gradually rolled out.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The ability to show the expiration date (timebomb) in the "Windows specifications" section under System > About has been added. This feature is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 38738362 velocity staging key.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) may not work after installing this build.

Start menu[edit | edit source]

The "Most used" section at the top of the All apps list may still be displayed even though the "Show most used apps" option under Personalization > Start in the Settings app is toggled off.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • Navigating to the Wi-Fi properties page may lead the Settings app to crash.
  • Attempting to install an optional feature via System > Option features may lead the Settings app to crash.

Widgets[edit | edit source]

The following issues are applicable if the new position for the Widgets entry point on left-aligned taskbars (previously introduced in build 22635.3420) are enabled:

  • Toggling the Widgets option under Personalization > Taskbar in the Settings app may refresh the taskbar.
  • Swipe invocation for the Widgets board and unpinning the Widgets entry point from the taskbar may not work if the taskbar is center-aligned.
  • The Widgets board may be incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode.
