New features and changes[edit | edit source]

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

  • The following minor changes, initially implemented in build 26231, has been backported to this build, albeit in light mode only:
    • The black thin border around the selected area when selecting items.
    • Changed the color of selected item descriptions (such as date, type and size) to black.
  • When selecting items in the Home page, a blue border will be shown around the selected area. This change are only available when Windows is set to light mode.

Shell[edit | edit source]

The updated UI design, new "My Phone" button and support of multiple layout variants for Windows Share flyout, initially implemented in build 26217 (ge_prerelease), have been backported to this build.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The experience for changing user profile picture under Accounts > Your info has been revamped as the "Change profile photo" dialog, adding the ability to apply effects and filters to the picture, crop parts of it, and restore it to the default profile picture. This experience is partially functional and disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 45189370 and 47364920 velocity staging keys.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

Starting from this build, the Microsoft PC Manager app will be installed by default if the region is set to China.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) may not work after installing this build.

Settings[edit | edit source]

Navigating to the Wi-Fi properties page may lead the Settings app to crash.

Widgets[edit | edit source]

The following issues are applicable if the new position for the Widgets entry point on left-aligned taskbars (previously introduced in build 22635.3420) are enabled:

  • Toggling the Widgets option under Personalization > Taskbar in the Settings app may refresh the taskbar.
  • Swipe invocation for the Widgets board and unpinning the Widgets entry point from the taskbar may not work if the taskbar is center-aligned.
  • The Widgets board may be incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode.
