New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Features[edit | edit source]

  • The access key shortcuts in the XAML context menu in File Explorer, initially introduced in builds 25314 and 23403, has been added and rolled out to a subset of users.
  • The new Bing Chat button and highlight in the search box on the taskbar, initially introduced in builds 25324 and 23419, has been added.
  • The ability to generate a live kernel dump in Task Manager, previously rolled out in builds 25276 and 23419, has been added.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The support of Content Adaptive Brightness Control (configurable via System > Display > Brightness & color) has been introduced to battery powered devices.
  • The performance of search within the Settings app has been improved.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • The performance impact of startup apps has been reduced in order to improve the experience on logon after booting up.
  • Virtual Memory ranges which are marked by a KBUGCHECK_REASON_CALLBACK_ROUTINE will be added to kernel-generated minidumps after a bugcheck.
  • The support for the Arab Republic of Egypt's daylight-saving time change order for 2023 has been added.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the "Show seconds in the clock on the system tray" option under Personalization > Taskbar to not work properly.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the show hidden icons flyout to open behind things like OneNote flyout and live captions.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing voice access to take some time to turn on after using the wake-up command.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing an unexpected error message to appear when opening Group Policy Editor.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

Taskbar[edit | edit source]

Users may see the daily rotating search highlight for some time before getting the new Bing button back to the search box on the taskbar.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The Language & Region page may indicate speech recognition support for currently unsupported languages.
  • When adding a language via the Language & Region page, the installation progress may become hidden, and users may not see install completion for enhanced speech recognition.

Live captions[edit | edit source]

  • The enhanced speech recognition support may not be installed correctly through the Language & Region page in the Settings app on ARM64 devices.
  • Captioning performance may be degraded in non-English languages and missing out-of-language filtering in non-English (United States) languages.
