Windows 11 build 25324.1000 is the fifteenth Insider Preview and the fourteenth available client build of Zinc, the 23H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 23 March 2023, along with its server counterpart.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Widgets[edit | edit source]
- The Widgets board has been revamped with a larger canvas and dedicated sections for widgets and feed content. This change is only available to a subset of users, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the

velocity ID. - The Widgets entry point on the taskbar has been animated, which triggers when hovering or clicking on it or when a new Widget announcement is displayed. Only a few weather and finance icons are supported.
- The ability to show the Widgets entry point next to the system tray when the taskbar is left-aligned has been added. This features is disabled by default, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the

- The new dedicated page for viewing USB 4 domains under Bluetooth & devices > USB, initially implemented in build 25314, has been rolled out.
- The option to select user preferred camera has been added under Accounts > Sign-in Options when multiple cameras compatible with Windows Hello are connected.
- The support of creating and attaching virtual hard disks has been added under System > Storage > Disks & volumes. This feature is disabled by default, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- A warning dialog on unsafe password copy and paste will display if the warning options for Windows Security under App & browser control > Reputation-based protection > Phishing protection is enabled. This feature is only available to a subset of users.
- Support for the SHA-3 family of hash functions, SHA-3 HMAC algorithms, and SHA-3 derived algorithms have been added.
- The performance of the calculating phase when sending a large number of files at once in File Explorer to the Recycle bin has been improved.
- The support of characters defined in GB18030-2022 has been implemented to several Simplified Chinese fonts and the Microsoft Pinyin IME.
- The ReFS file system has been updated to 3.10.

Fixed an issue that was preventing laptop users from adjusting screen brightness.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- The system may take longer than expected to upgrade to this build in certain cases.
- The "Getting ready for you" screens may appear for Azure Active Directory joined users when signing into Windows after upgrading to this build.
- The screen may appear black for several minutes when upgrading to this build.
- Windows Sandbox may fail to launch in certain cases.
- Users may fail to shut down Windows when certain USB controllers are connected.
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- The access keys in the XAML context menu may appear inconsistently if no button is pressed. Pressing a button will cause them to reappear.
- The following issues will only apply if the file recommendations feature is enabled:
- Clicking on the Share command may bring up the Windows share sheet (non-OneDrive).
- Clicking on the "Open File Location" command may pop an error dialog.
- Clicking on the "Remove from list" command may result in no actions.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- When adding a language via the Language & Region page, the installation progress may become hidden, and users may not see install completion for enhanced speech recognition.
- The Language & Region page may not offer the necessary speech recognition language support for live captions for up to an hour after first login.

- The enhanced speech recognition support may not be installed correctly through the Language & Region page in the Settings app on ARM64 devices.
- Captioning performance may be degraded in non-English languages and missing out-of-language filtering in non-English (United States) languages.
Safe mode[edit | edit source]
- Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
service not running. - Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer
