Windows 11 build 22606 is a build of Windows 11 2022 Update. It was mentioned in the metadata file Desktop_neutral_Forward_22606.1.ni_release.220420-1415.CompDB.xml

The build number was also mentioned in a screenshot posted in the announcement page of the aforementioned build.[1] The full build was later shared on 19 November 2024. Prior to its publication, it was released to the Ecosystem Engineering Access Program (EEAP) on 27 April 2022.
This build was supposed to be released to Insiders, as it was build candidate (released on the internal FlightOpsPromoted channel), but then got cancelled and replaced by build 22610.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
Shell[edit | edit source]
The hidden icons flyout on the taskbar may disappear completely in some cases. Restarting explorer.exe
may solve this issue.
Task Manager[edit | edit source]
Enabling Efficiency mode from the command bar may cause the process list to fluctuate between the Apps and Background groups in the Processes page. To bypass this issue, use the right-clicking context menu to enable or disable Efficiency mode then close and re-open Task Manager.
Widgets[edit | edit source]
The Widgets panel may not load as expected when using the swipe from left edge of screen touch motion.
[edit | edit source]
- Certain apps in full screen (e.g., video players) may prevent live captions from being visible.
- Certain apps positioned near the top of the screen and closed before live captions is run may re-launch behind the live captions window positioned at top.
Safe mode[edit | edit source]
- Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
service not running. - Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer
