Windows 10 build 9860 is the second offically released Technical Preview build of the Windows 10 version 1507 development branch. The main addition in this build is a new Windows Phone-style notification area, now known as the Action Center. Otherwise, it is quite similar to 9841.

The buildtag was initially found through the ThresholdInternal build update mechanism on 2014-10-10. The build was released to those signed up to the Windows Insider Program on 2014-10-21 and was downloadable via the Preview Builds build update mechanism in 9841.

Starting with this build, Metro apps can run in lower screen resolutions than 1024x768.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

Installation[edit | edit source]

Turn off all network adapters even if you set the BIOS date for the machine, otherwise after the hardware setup it will automatically adjust to the current time via online time syncing and thus activate the timebomb, resulting in a BSOD and the bootloader being broken.
