Don't steal images.[edit source]

https://betawiki.net/wiki/File:Ms-dos_executive.png Watermark. --LilShootDawg (talk) 22:02, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
I don't see any copyright violation here. You did not make the image, did you? It does not have (C) LilShootDawg 2019, All Rights Reserved watermark on it. --Bubbles 12:13, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Nonetheless, it's still taken from another website. Speaking of which, I feel like the images with the TCB or ClassicBeta watermarks should be deleted instantly too. BF10 (talk) 00:38, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Anyone can point out things like this, not just the original author of the image. In any case, images with watermarks will be removed.--Overdoze (talk) 07:31, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Watermark? No, my image does not have any watermark!!! Who said there is a watermark? --Bubbles
Of course you don't. I deleted it like 12 hours before you posted that message. For the record, your MS-DOS Executive picture came from http://steve-lovelace.com/early-versions-of-microsoft-windows/ and yes, there is a watermark. Calm the attitude. --Ryuzaki (talk) 08:48, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Where is the watermark??? Maybe I need glasses but I can't find it anywhere! --Bubbles
Right here. --Ryuzaki (talk) 09:57, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
How you expect me to see that? What about other images with watermarks here? Also, I did not even use that image anywhere, I've only uploaded it. --Bubbles
I don't. I expect you to upload actual screenshots and not some artist impressions of Windows 1.0. And what other images with watermarks? There are not any other AFAIK. --Ryuzaki (talk) 06:44, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

JPEG images[edit source]

Firstly, unleaked and fake builds are allowed to breach the image guidelines, and thus can be JPEG. Secondly, do not convert images to PNG to "fit" guidelines. BF10 (talk) 12:51, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Indeed, converting images to JPEG will do absolutely nothing with the artifacts caused by its lossy compression algorithm. Please don't do that, it's useless and only takes up space. Not to mention converting JPEG photos to PNG is very inefficient. --Ryuzaki (talk) 12:54, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
At least make all images consistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bubbles (talkcontribs)
How consistent? If an image originated as a JPEG, it's better to upload the original lossy compressed file, because you simply can't get anything better off it. Using PNG for photos is extremely inefficient, go take a photo and see the size difference when you save it as a JPEG and when you save it as a PNG. --Ryuzaki (talk) 09:17, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Do we care about size...? Converting it to PNG does no damage to the JPG. It looks really unorganized to have bunch of PNGs and JPGs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bubbles (talkcontribs)
It's very unorganized to not put your signature on things. And it is a file extension. Chill out. Not that big of a deal. --LilShootDawg (talk) 09:59, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Keeping it in JPG doesn't damage it either. And who cares? --Ryuzaki (talk) 10:09, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
