New features and changes[edit | edit source]
User interface[edit | edit source]
Notably, the caption buttons for traditional Win32 applications have been updated to match with the ones in the Metro applications, which includes the removal of the close button red background and the lighter caption button graphics. In addition to this, the full-screen button for Metro applications has been moved next to the maximize/restore button. As part of this change, the title bar text is now left-aligned, and Metro applications now use a light gray title bar.
The hover effect on system tray icons has been updated to match the flatter taskbar appearance, and the start menu has received another refinement.
To further match the overall system to the new design language, the File Explorer icons have been updated. For example, the folder icons is now flatter, and is wide open instead of being slightly open like the previous icon set.

- Icons have been added to categories.
- Many design changes have been made to further resemble that of the RTM.
- Background options have been removed. They would be re-added in build 10056.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- The tablet mode has received a slight change.
- New lock screen backgrounds have been added.
- Several apps are no longer maximized by default when opened.
- The Window thumbnail border bug has been fixed in this build.
- Watermark text size has been reduced, due to the decreasing of the title bar text size.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

The ⊞ Win+X menu is largely unstable, which might display either mojibake instead of the expected menu entries or crash the entire shell.
