Windows XP build 2430 is a pre-Beta 2 build of Windows XP. Only the Professional SKU of this build is available, while the Personal SKU is yet to be shared to the public.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
User interface[edit | edit source]
A drop shadow effect is now applied against window title text in the Luna visual style's caption bar. The operating system's codename is no longer referenced in the Luna visual style, with its name simply reduced to "Luna style".
New icon designs for the Windows Task Manager and Disk Defragmenter have been added, with toolbars in the Windows Explorer user interface now being locked by default to prevent confusion among consumers. The taskbar would be later locked in build 2433 in an effort to further reduce new users' confusion.

- The language for non-Unicode programs won't be saved when set during setup.
- Merlin does not function during the OOBE.
