Changes[edit | edit source]

  • Changed the default wallpaper to the canyon that is seen in the Release Candidate builds.
  • The window controls of the Basic theme became larger, making the theme resembling the version seen in the RTM.
  • Changed the shutdown sound to the RTM logoff sound.
  • Changed the font on the login screen to be larger.
  • The Aero cursors are now used by default, unlike in previous builds.
  • An option to open the mixer has been added to the volume flyout.
  • The Flip 3D icon has been changed to that seen in the RTM.
  • Windows Media Player setup has been updated slightly.

Control Panel[edit | edit source]

  • Network File and Printer Sharing, Network List, and Network Map have been integrated into Network and Sharing Center.
  • "Local Security Policy" and "Programs and Features" received new icons.
  • Keyboard properties received new in-applet icons.

Winver[edit | edit source]

  • End-User License Agreement has been changed to Microsoft Software License Terms.

Setup[edit | edit source]

Setup shows a "This copy of Windows is not genuine" message.

Upgrade[edit | edit source]

The wallpaper gets changed to img22 when upgrading from Windows Vista build 5435 or build 5461.

Explorer[edit | edit source]

It is impossible to access CDs and DVDs through Explorer in this build, since Explorer thinks the disc is blank.
