Windows Server 2003 build 3590 is the official Beta 3 build of Windows Server 2003, which was released officially to the public on 18 November 2001.

It is notable for the return of the "Comments?" link located in the title bar of a window, which previously appeared in Windows XP and Server 2003 builds 2202 to 2475.

Changes[edit | edit source]

  • Introduced new banners, a new boot screen and changed the setup's color scheme to be gray instead of the client counterpart's blue.
  • Internet Explorer 6 has been updated to Service Pack 1.
  • The Windows Product Activation grace period has been increased from 14 to 60 days.

Quirks[edit | edit source]

System Properties and the winver oddly identify themselves as having Service Pack 1 installed. This quirk can be fixed by navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlCurrentSet\Control\Windows and setting the CSDVersion key to 0 in Registry Editor.
