Windows 11 build 26100.1 is the base build for most subsequent builds of the Windows 11 2024 Update. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Dev and Canary Channels on 3 April 2024.[1]

The Enterprise LTSC edition of this build was distributed to enterprises as the RTM release of the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC preview program.[2] It was uploaded to Chinese website BetaWorld on 4 April 2024,[3] one day after the public Insider release.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Shell[edit | edit source]

The updated energy saver icon in the system tray and Quick Settings, initially implemented in build 26052, has been reverted to its old style which was first seen in build 26020.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed a DWM crash that was causing the screen to flash black.
  • Fixed the issue that prevented the ability to bring focus to the ellipsis or Refresh buttons by using a keyboard if the undocking experience for Copilot is enabled.
  • Fixed the issue that was causing shutdown and hibernate to not work on certain devices in the latest builds starting from 26080.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the 0x80240067 error when downloading app updates from Microsoft Store or Windows updates in the Settings app.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

Users may be unable to perform an in-place upgrade to this build via Windows Update in builds 26040, 23620 and earlier due to a deadlock that occurs during the initial preparation process.

Shell[edit | edit source]

Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.

Copilot[edit | edit source]

  • Copilot may run automatically at startup unexpectedly after restarting Windows.
  • Voice access and Windows Ink may not work reliably if the undocking experience for Copilot is enabled.
  • When Copilot is docked and resized to a large width, it may not always fill the width of the panel. Resizing Copilot to less than half of the width of the screen usually fixes this issue.
