New features and changes[edit | edit source]

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

The following changes to File Explorer, initially implemented in build 26052, have been backported to this build and gradually rolled out to a subset of users. These changes can be activated manually by enabling the 46700501, 46700599, 46700719, 46700936, 47109994, 48636059, 48637472, 50104492, and 50390676 velocity staging keys:

  • The "- File Explorer" suffix in the preview thumbnail title in the taskbar, Alt+Tab ↹ and Task View for File Explorer windows.
  • The ability to indicate if File Explorer windows include multiple tabs in the preview thumbnail title.

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • Changes to the background color of flashing app icons on the taskbar, initially implemented in build 26241, have been backported to this build.
  • The logic for the "End Task" option in the taskbar's context menu has been updated so that it no longer shows a "Not Responding" dialog to give confirmation before ending the task.
  • The Run dialog has been updated to now follow text size preference under Accessibility > Text Size in the Settings app. This change is only available to a subset of users, but can be activated manually by enabling the 49718509 velocity staging key.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

The Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles has been updated for certain mobile operators.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed an issue that was causing a thin line to show between the tab and address bar.
  • Fixed an issue that was impacting File Explorer reliability.
  • Fixed an issue where the OneDrive icon in the address bar was blurry sometimes.

Accessibility[edit | edit source]

  • Addressed several accessibility issues where File Explorer, Common File Dialog (CFD), and Browse/Shortcuts dialogs did not respond appropriately to text size/scaling preferences.
  • Addressed several accessibility issues in File Explorer impacting screen reader users, related to content being read out correctly, and also keyboard focus not going to the correct place.
  • Fixed an issue believed to be the underlying cause of errors when attempting to use Voice Typing in certain languages.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

Start menu[edit | edit source]

  • The All apps list may not be read out by screen readers.
  • Some apps may not be sorted correctly in the All apps list in certain display languages.
  • A placeholder "Continue from Phone" entry may show under the All apps list after installing this build.

Input[edit | edit source]

Text suggestions for the hardware keyboard may not work properly (selecting one unexpectedly concatenates).

Widgets[edit | edit source]

The following issues are applicable if the new position for the Widgets entry point on left-aligned taskbars (previously introduced in build 22635.3420) are enabled:

  • Swipe invocation for the Widgets board and unpinning the Widgets entry point from the taskbar may not work if the taskbar is center-aligned.
  • Toggling the Widgets option under Personalization > Taskbar in the Settings app may refresh the taskbar.
  • The Widgets board may be incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode.
