Performance Monitor (formerly known as System Monitor) is a system utility include with Microsoft Windows since Windows NT 3.1. It is used to monitor all of the various activities on the computer such as CPU and memory usage. It is also used to pinpoint performance issues on local and remote computers by measuring the performance of all of the computer's resources.

Before Windows 2000 it was debuted as a separate application, then it was ported as a Microsoft Management Console applet.
