Office 2019

Office 2019 is a version of Microsoft Office which was released on 24 July 2018. It officially works only on Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and newer, but it can be patched to run on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 (also including their server counterparts).

This version also changes the way on how long Microsoft will support the software; instead of 10 years that was on earlier versions of Microsoft Office, Office 2019 will only receive 5 years of mainstream support and 2 years of extended support, adding up to 7 years of support - 3 years less than usual.

It includes all features which are currently available in Office 365. There isn't any MSI version for client apps, but only for server apps.

This version ships with new fluent icons, which were later backported to Office 2016. For the first time, the icon set is the same on all systems. To comply with the UI language of macOS Big Sur, all icons were put in an app symbol with an update released in 2020.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This version only installs on Windows operating systems with the kernel number being 10.0, hence it works on Windows 10 betas, as seen here.
