Event Viewer is a system utility included in Microsoft Windows since Windows NT 3.1. It allows users to view a log of all events that have occurred on the computer such as an error message, a program crash event and logon attempts. It can be used to troubleshoot computer problems since users can pinpoint when a particular event occurred. Originally introduced as a standalone application, it turned into a MMC snap-in in Windows 2000.
