Windows Server 2012 build 7788 is a build of Windows Server 2012, which was uploaded on 24 June 2022. It is the earliest available server build to include the Redpill feature locking mechanism and a confidential build warning in the watermark.
It is the first server build to introduce support for ISO mounting, USB 3.0/XHCI, fast startup (also known as hybrid boot) and the Aero Lite theme. As the build belongs to a branch intended specifically for virtualization, it includes improvements towards the Hyper-V hypervisor, such as extended PCI bus support and the ability to initialize Hyper-V services before loading into the operating system.
Significant changes to the shell are also present; namely, the Windows Explorer ribbon and the Start screen have been introduced (although both are in a mostly nonfunctional state), and the taskbar can now display across multiple monitors. A primitive PDF viewer is also present in the build.
Due to its earliness, this build identifies itself as its predecessor in many areas and still bears the 6.1 kernel version.
