Windows XP build 2600.2055 is the official SP2 beta build of Windows XP, which was released on 18 December 2003.[1] The English version was originally only available as a service pack installer until the full installation media was uploaded to BetaArchive on 18 July 2019. The German language variant was uploaded to the Internet Archive on 23 August 2024 as a service pack installer.[2]

- A new OOBE page starts that asks if the user would like to turn on Automatic Updates.
- Windows Installer was updated to version 3.0.
- The EncodePointer/DecodePointer and EncodeSystemPointer/DecodeSystemPointer kernel functions have been added to
KERNEL32.DLL.
