Windows Server 2003 build 2410 is a pre-Beta 2 build of Windows Server 2003. Currently the Server and Advanced Server SKUs are available. The Datacenter Server SKU of this build currently remains unleaked as of today.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • Setup has been updated and now contains new billboards that are exclusive to server SKUs.
  • This build now includes a Classic version of the Simple Start menu, although the Classic Start menu is still the default.
  • Windows Media Player has been updated to version 8.0.
  • The Sample Test Visual Style has been added, while Windows Classic continues to be used by default.
  • Support for VESA BIOS extensions has been introduced in the built-in VGA driver, which enables high color and true color modes without additional drivers as long as a VBE-compatible graphics adapter is present.
  • This is the earliest available server build to include the command-line System Information application (SystemInfo.exe).
  • All bugcheck code changes up to its client counterpart has been implemented.

Windows Product Activation[edit | edit source]

Much like its client version, a Windows Product Activation prompt is included. The Windows Product Activation application can be opened by executing C:\Windows\System32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a. However, after the first page, it will instantly say that Windows is now activated. Despite that, the OOBE cannot be run even though its files are present, meaning that the sole purpose of the "oobe" folder is to implement the Windows Product Activation.

Start Page[edit | edit source]

Unlike other Whistler builds that came before and after, this is the only build to have a functional Start Page. It is mapped to the Start button, so pressing on it will create a new instance of the Start Page. To access the regular Start menu, just press on the Start button while holding down the ⇧ Shift key. To enable the Start Page, create a text document through Notepad with the following values to save with a .reg extension:[1]

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

"FaultID"=dword:00000065
