Windows CE 1.0 build 308-0 is the official Technical Beta 2.1 build of Windows CE 1.0. It is available as an emulator included in the Windows CE Emulation SDK included in the Microsoft Beta Evaluation Program Volume 24 on Disk A.
Installation[edit | edit source]
The emulator only runs on Windows NT 4.0; launching it on Windows 9x will give an error due to a missing SHELL32.DLL export.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
This build is pretty incomplete, as the Control Panel, its applets and Help are missing, as well as many icon files, resulting in most applications showing the generic file icon.
