Changes[edit | edit source]
- Changed the Active Channel panel.
- The Windows 98 Welcome program now displays the splash screen as seen in the RTM. Also, unlike other Windows 98 builds, the Welcome program's content is put on a black background prior to playing the startup sound. The black background would be removed in build 1650.
- Tada and notify sounds have been changed to the ones heard in the released product.
- Added a Disk Cleanup program link to the start menu.
- ODBC (32-bit) settings are finalized.
- Readded the "Microsoft" string to the Computer section of System Properties for the second time after the initial removal in build 1619.
- Windows configuration setup items have been finalized.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
To avoid a BSOD during hardware setup, ACPI and APM must be turned off.
