Windows 95 build 1216 (also known as Windows 95C or build 950 C) is the official OSR 2.5 release of Windows 95. It is essentially OSR 2.1 with updated multimedia and internet features, such as Internet Explorer 4 and Outlook Express 4. However, on systems that are not compatible with IE 4, such as PCs with a 386 processor (IE4 requires at least a 486 processor), Internet Explorer 2 as seen in OSR 1 or Internet Explorer 3 as seen in OSR 2 is installed instead. Also, this build has the August 2001 Update which updates Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player from Internet Explorer 4 and Windows Media Player 4 to Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and Windows Media Player 7.0.
